TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Validity
This quotation is valid for 14 days from the date of issue. After that we may re-price to reflect current supply costs.

2. Basis of quotation
Prices are based on a standard installation and on the information and photographs you have supplied. A standard installation assumes safe and reasonable access to the cylinder location, replacement of an existing hot water system, existing services in serviceable condition, and no structural, asbestos, or non-compliant work required to complete the job.

3. Variations
If conditions on site differ from those assumed above, additional costs may apply. We will contact you and obtain your approval before carrying out any additional work. You will not be charged for a variation you have not approved.

4. Prices
All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise.

5. Acceptance and deposit
The quotation is accepted when you pay the 50% booking deposit by bank transfer. Payment of the deposit confirms your acceptance of these terms. Your installation date is not held until the deposit is received.

6. Balance payment
The balance is due on completion of the installation and is collected by direct debit through GoCardless under the direct debit authority set up at booking.

7. Deposit refunds and cancellation
If you cancel more than 48 hours before the scheduled installation date, your deposit is refunded less any costs already committed on your behalf (including ordered product that cannot be returned for full credit). If you cancel within 48 hours of the scheduled date, or if our installer attends and cannot proceed for reasons within your control, a call-out fee of $250 incl. GST applies.

8. Delivery and scheduling
Installation dates are subject to product availability and are indicative until confirmed. We are not liable for delays caused by supplier lead times, weather, or other matters outside our reasonable control.

9. Installation and compliance
Work is carried out by registered tradespeople engaged by Butterfield Hot Water Systems. Plumbing and electrical work is completed to the relevant New Zealand standards. A Certificate of Compliance is issued for electrical work where required.

10. What is not included
Unless expressly listed on the quotation, the price excludes: repair or replacement of existing pipework, valves, wiring, or switchboard components found to be defective; asbestos identification or removal; building, tiling, painting, or making good beyond reinstatement of the immediate work area; upgrades required by a network or territorial authority; and any work arising from pre-existing non-compliance.

11. Warranty
The cylinder or heat pump carries the manufacturer's warranty, which is provided by the manufacturer and administered by us on your behalf. Our workmanship is warranted for 12 months from completion. Warranty does not cover damage caused by water quality, incorrect operation, freezing, power surge, third-party interference, or failure to carry out required maintenance.

12. Ownership
Ownership of all goods supplied remains with Butterfield Hot Water Systems until payment is received in full. Risk in the goods passes to you on installation.

13. Consumer Guarantees Act
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where you acquire goods or services as a consumer. Where you acquire goods or services for business purposes, the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply.

14. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the price paid for the goods and services supplied. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of income or loss of use.

15. Privacy
Information and photographs you provide are used to quote, schedule, and complete your installation, and are shared with our installers and suppliers for that purpose only.

Payment
The balance shown is due on completion and is collected by direct debit through GoCardless under the direct debit authority provided at booking. Deposits are paid by bank transfer to the account shown above.

Overdue amounts
Amounts outstanding beyond the due date may incur default interest at 2% per month and any reasonable costs of recovery, including collection agency and legal costs.

Ownership
Ownership of goods supplied remains with Butterfield Hot Water Systems until payment is received in full.

Warranty
Manufacturer's warranty applies to the cylinder or heat pump. Workmanship is warranted for 12 months from completion. Warranty claims require the invoice to be paid in full.

Disputes
Any query about this invoice must be raised within 7 days of the invoice date. Undisputed amounts remain payable.

GST
